Towards a Multi-sector cooperation in Air-Traffic Control supported by a Meta- Common Workspace

چکیده
For several years, the need for air traffic control has been continuously increasing. In order to maintain aircraft safety, different support tools have been built and assessed by our laboratory. The professional controllers who have tested these tools have made various criticisms. Our conviction is that it is necessary to design a more cooperative tool that would allow “true team work” to be established between air traffic controllers and their support tools, by making the support tool part of the team rather than a substitute for air traffic controllers. This paper presents a new support tool based on the delegation of tasks and a common workspace. The support tools’ assessments with professional controllers have highlighted a workload decrease due to the delegation and the sharing of information. In order to improve the support system, it is necessary to extend the common workspace to the adjacent sector of control. 1 Benoît Guiost works now for Eurisco International, 23 avenue Edouard Belin, BP 44013, 31028 Toulouse Cedex 4; [email protected]

Determination of the Aircraft Landing Sequence by Two Meta-Heuristic Algorithms
Due to an anticipated increase in air traffic during the next decade, air traffic control in busy airports is one of the main challenges confronting the controllers in the near future. Since the runway is often a bottleneck in an airport system, there is a great interest in optimizing the use of the runway. The most important factors in aircraft landing modeling are time and cost. For this reas...
متن کاملDevelopment of a strategic plan through SWOT analysis to control traffic-borne air pollutants using CALINE4 model
Traffic is one of the main sources of air pollution in metropolitan areas. With development of transportation system, inappropriate vehicle production, and the use of low-quality fuels, increased pollution in these areas is inevitable. The current study tries to determine PM2.5, PM10, NO2, and CO emission dispersion, caused by traffic, using CALINE4 software. Ac...

This study was carried out to analyze the variations of Benzene, Toluene, and para- Xylene (BTp-X) present in the urban air of Delhi. These pollutants can enter into the human body through various pathways like inhalation, oral and dermal exposure posing adverse effects on human health. Keeping in view of the above facts, six different locations of Delhi were selected for the study during summe...

متن کاملInteractive Air Traffic Control automation in oceanic airspace1
Air traffic controllers workload limits impose upper bounds to the amount of traffic manageable in a given air sector for a given time frame. Air Traffic Control (ATC) automation methods open the possibility of reducing this workload by shifting to the machine the tasks of (1) detecting potential conflicts, and of (2) proposing to the controller ATC instructions that prevent such conflicts. We ...
